“…This Amazon Basics shredder is only basic in that it is a relatively primitive strip-cut model, but it’s size is small and compact — perfect for our use. It is too big to put on a desktop, but fits out-of-the-way under a desk or off to the side. It is also very powerful and rather quiet. “…My only complaint is the paper opening is just a slot, and it’s sometimes hard to get the paper fed properly without paying close attention to what you’re doing. My old shredder had a sort of chute that would direct the paper so you could just sort of shove it in the general direction and it would work. Perfectly straight pieces of paper are a bit easier, but if they’ve been folded and the ends try and flare out, you have to hold them close to the edge you’re feeding in or they flare out away from the mouth…”
