Amazon Basics 8-Sheet Strip-Cut Paper Shredder Review
Today we look at Amazon Basics 8-Sheet Strip-Cut paper shredder, which is a smaller size shredder most suitable for home use. Credit cards can be shredded oen at a time. Multi-page documents are easily shredded since there’s no need to remove staples. This model features a separate CD/DVD slot with a safety cover, which cuts them into four pieces. For this price point, Amazon Basics paper shredder does a very good job shredding your documents, taking advantage of strip-cut technology it performs very quickly when shredding multiple documents at once.

“…This Amazon Basics shredder is only basic in that it is a relatively primitive strip-cut model, but it’s size is small and compact — perfect for our use. It is too big to put on a desktop, but fits out-of-the-way under a desk or off to the side. It is also very powerful and rather quiet. It cut old Blu-ray backups without hesitating, slicing them into 4 strips…”

“…My only complaint is the paper opening is just a slot, and it’s sometimes hard to get the paper fed properly without paying close attention to what you’re doing. My old shredder had a sort of chute that would direct the paper so you could just sort of shove it in the general direction and it would work. Perfectly straight pieces of paper are a bit easier, but if they’ve been folded and the ends try and flare out, you have to hold them close to the edge you’re feeding in or they flare out away from the mouth…”
